Gynogenesis is a special form of sexual reproduction in which insemination is necessary but the head of the sperm penetrating into the ovum does not transform into male pronucleus; and the gynogenetic embryo develops at the expense of the ovum nucleus only.

Gynogenesis is the process of development in, which the embryo carry only the maternal chromosome due to activation of an egg by the sperm that degenerate without fusion with the egg's nucleus.
In the androgenesis, there is no participation of female egg in the process of fertilization while in the process of gynogenesis male sperm does not combine with the female egg.
Insemination is required in the process of gynogenesis while in the process of androgenesis embryo are constituted from the pollen.
