Plants and animals are both living things, which means they both contain cells. The cells of plants and animals share some similar traits – they both store DNA – but there are some fundamental differences between them. These differences include structure, protein-creation capabilities and differentiation capabilities.

Animal cell lacking contractile vacuoles usually burst, if placed in hypertonic solution.

Animal cells don't have a cell wall and plant cells have.
Plant cells have large vacuoles which provide rigidity and turgidity  also store food,animal vacuoles don't provide rigidity and turgidity. 
Plant cells have plastids which animal cells don't have.
