difference between artries ,veins and capillaries​

Arteries are the vessels which carry blood away from the heart to various organs of the body.
Veins collect the blood from different organs and bring it back to the heart .
The capillaries join together to form veins that convey the blood away from the organ or tissue.

Artries:

  1. Thick walled.
  2. No valves are present.
  3. Bring pure blood from heart to body.
  4. Carries oxygenated blood.
  5. They are deep- seated in the body.
  6. They are red in colour.
  7. Pressure of blood is high in artries as the blood is being pumped by heart.

Veins:

  1. Thin walled.
  2. Valves are present to prevent backflow of blood.
  3. Carries blood from body to heart.
  4. Carries De-oxygenated blood.
  5. Veins are superficial.
  6. they are blue in colour.
  7. Pressure of blood is low because blood flows by capillary action of veins.

Capillaries:

  1. It is a very narrow blood vessel which has very thin walls.
  2. It forms a network throughout the body in all living cells connecting arteries to veins.
  3. It can dilate or constrict according to the requirement of tissue.
  4. It doesn't have any valve.
  5. It contains mixed blood as it connects arteries and veins.
