Difference between ascending and descending chromatography

In descending chromatography, the mobile phase move downwards by the virtue of gravity. This method of separation is faster as the mobile phase travels along the gravity. However, the principle of separation remains the same in both the types. But technically, ascending chromatography is easy to perform!
