Asteroids are big rocky and irregular celestial bodies revolving around sun between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter . They revolve together in a belt like structure called asteroid belt.
Comet is a small body of ice and dust revolving around sun in its elongated orbit and it has a tail . When a comet approaches sun it heats up and leaves behind a stream of hot gases and dust called its tail . For example : Halley's comet
