Attached growth process:
- A type of waste water treatment in which microorganism responsible for conversion of nutrient is attached to an inert material such as rock.

Suspended growth process:
- A type of waste water treatment in which microorganism responsible for treatment are suspended in liquid form in the tank.
- It is an anaerobic process.
