Autotrophs make their food themselves (ex- plants),perform photosynthesis(using light,water etc)
Heterotrophs get food from others like eating other animals or plants or plant or anal products(ex - Animals),don't perform photosynthesis

autotrophic are organisms that can produce their own food from the substance available in their surrounding using light or chemical energy.
heterotrophic cannot synthesis their own food andrely on other organisms-both plant and animal-for nutrients
