The Main difference is given below

AUTOTROPHS

Autotrophs are the organisms which create their own food with the help of process called photosynthesis by utilizing water, carbon dioxide in the presence of sunlight and chlorophyll.

Example: Green plants.

HETEROTROPHS

Heterotrophs are the organisms which obtain their food from other plants and animals. They cannot create their own food and depends on the other living organisms to obtain food.

Example: all animals, birds.

Autotrophs are called producers as they make food required by all other organisms. Heterotrophs are called consumers as they consume food prepared by autotrophs
