The difference between axiom and postulates are:

Axiom: An established principle in some artistic practice or science that is universally received.

Postulates: Something assumed without proof as being self-evident or generally accepted, especially when used as a basis for an argument.

Self-evident proposition requiring no formal demonstration for its truth but received and assented to fast mentioning.  Axiom truly means Logical and Mathematical demonstration.

Postulates depicts specifically in Geometry which is a claim for granted possibility of simple operation that straight line can be drawn between two points which is a simple problem of self-evident nature differentiated from axiom which is self evident.
