b2b translates to "Business to business" while B2C stands for "Business-to-Customer".
Both e-commerce transactions focus on the exchange of goods or services over the internet between online stores and individual customers.
However, while B2B capitalizes on provision of components or raw materials, B2C transactions revolve the sale of the finished product to the end customer.
For example, my company manufactures furniture and we have an online store where we post our products such as office chairs and desks for sale. This form of e-commerce will be categorized under the B2C because we intend to sell to the end user.
Nevertheless, when we source materials components for our production online, it will be termed B2B.
Conclusively, an automobile manufacturer can make several B2B transactions such as buying tires, glass for windscreens, and rubber hoses for its vehicles. The final transaction, a finished vehicle sold to the consumer, is a single B2C transaction
