Bacteriostatic means those antibiotics that stops or inhibits the growth of bacteria that means no multiplication or generation of bacteria but they do not kill bacteria for example tetracycline and penicillin
Bacteriocidal means those antibiotics that actually kills bacteria by any mechanism depending on the antibiotic used for example aminoglucosides
