A derived unit is a SI unit of measurement comprised of a combination of the seven base units. Examples: The SI unit of force is the derived unit newton or N. A newton is equal to 1 m.

a base unit - a quantity which is independent of other quantity is called base quantity. derived quantity- a quantity which is dependent on other quantity is called derived quantity
