basicity is the number of replaceable hydrogen ions in the acid molecule. it is always the same. for example sulphuric acid has two such ions hence Basicity is two. ... Strength orbasicity of an acid is one and the same thing which means the no. of hydronium produced by ionisation of one molecule of that acid .

  • The basicity of an acid is the number of H+ ions it can furnish in solution.
  • Example: basicity of HCl is 1.
  • Basicity of H3PO4 is 3.
  • The basic character of a compound is its ability to act as a base.
