Answer:

Sociology researches and analyses human behaviour and other aspects of social life. It provides the means of increasing our cultural sensitivities. The improved understanding of a given set of social circumstance equips us with a better chance of controlling them. Sociological findings can be used to study the impact of any policy programme, development related decisions, introduction of new technology. Using such a body of knowledge in planning and policy implementation is called applied sociology. While basic sociology simply researches social life, social change and human behaviour, applied sociology makes use of these sociological findings in action oriented plans for development.
