Bhangar soil is older alluvial soil.Large parts of the Northern Indian plains are covered with bhangar soil.It is not as fertile as the khadar soil.

Khadar soil is the new and younger deposits of the alluvial soil on the flood plain region. This soil is renewed every year and thus is much more fertile than bhangar soil.
