Bhangar soils are less fertile as they are above flood level whereas Khadar soils are more fertile as they are below flood level. Bhanger is full of kankers (lime nodules) while khadar soil is composed of fine silt and clay.

1. The khadar soils are found in the low areas of the valley, bottom of a valley which are flooded every year.
2. These soils are finer in texture.

1. The Bhangar soils are found in higher reaches, about 30 m above the flood level.
2. These soils are coarser in texture.
