The word binary represents two-bits. They send communication signals at only 2 levels – 0 and 1. Binary signalling is the type of digital modulation technique used for data transmission in which instead of one-bit, two or more bits are transmitted at a time.
M-ary signalling is a multi-level modulation technique that is used in digital communications as the digital inputs with more than two modulation levels allowed on the transmitter’s input. ‘M’ stands for the number of conditions, levels, or combinations that is possible with N bits. These techniques are bandwidth efficient.
