Sometimes, during unfavorable conditions, some organisms develop a thick protective covering around themselves called cyst. Inside the cyst, cell divides repeatedly to produce many daughter cells. When the conditions get favourable, the cyst breaks open releasing the daughter cells. Each daughter cell grows into new organism. This is called multiple fission.
