Green gram and Black gram are both the species of pulses very related to each other, but these can be differentiated very easily. Black gram differs from green gram by having short seeds, hairy pods, and oblonged seeds. Seed colur vary from blackish to oily colour Black gram is very nutritious so its prize is very high in India and other countries

Black gram is a staple product in most of the cuisines of South India. Black gram is an important crop grown in both Kharif and Rabi seasons. It is eaten with rice. It is used in making dosa etc.

Green gram i.e. mung dal is the main crop of South-East and South Asia. It is used in making namkeen and dal etc. It is a very digestible pulse and gets digested very quickly. It is extremely beneficial in sprouted form and is a good source of protein and fibre.
