Block Mountain- Block mountains are those mountains that are formed by vertical upliftment of a block in a large area between two blocks on either side. The uplifted block is known as horst while the lowered blocks are termed as graben. The Rhine Valley mountain is an example of block mountain.Fold Mountain- Fold mountains are formed when earth’s two tectonic plates converge. The collision causes a part of the Earth’s surface to rise up, creating a mountain.by compression. Ex- Himalayas.
