difference between bone and cartilage
Answers
A bone is a rigid organ that constitutes part of the vertebrate skeleton in animals. Bones protect the various organs of the body, produce red and white blood cells, store minerals, provide structure and support for the body, and enable mobility.
Cartilage is a resilient and smooth elastic tissue, a rubber-like padding that covers and protects the ends of long bones at the joints, and is a structural component of the rib cage, the ear, the nose, the bronchial tubes, the intervertebral discs, and many other body components.
Difference Between Bones and Cartilage. A bone is a hard connective tissue, while cartilage is soft connective tissue. Bones form the skeletal structure of the body, whereas cartilage is present in nose, ear, ribs, larynx, and joints and also act as a shock absorber in these joints.

Bone:
Cells in bones are embedded in matrix of calcium and phosphate compound. It forms a framework of body. They facilitate movement of muscles. Bones are hard and inflexible and they have blood vessels. The long bones are usually hollow containing cavity called as marrow cavity. It is full of bone marrow.
Cartilage :
This tissue is elastic, less harder as compared to bones. Elastic is due to presence of chondrin. Cells are made up of chlodriablast which are widely spaced and matrix is reinforced by fibres. It occurs at joint of bones in the nose, ear, trachea and larynx. It provides flexibility and great tensile strength.
