Cathode :

It is an electrode where the cations are deposited .

It is an electrode which attracts the positive charge.

Metals are deposited here .

This electrode is the negatively charged electrode.

Anode :

It is an electrode where the anions are deposited .

It is an electrode which attracts the negative charge.

Non-metals are deposited here .

This electrode is the positively charged electrode.
