difference between cathode ray and alpha ray

in a cathode ray, the electrons are always released from a metal(since
they conduct electricity). These electrons are actually the ones that
are in the energy levels of metal atoms. But, the electrons in a beta ray are not the electrons in energy
levels, but instead of that, are results of an nuclear process, where a
neutron breaks into a proton and an electron. This is also a difference
between cathode rays and beta rays.
