Hello friend,
On Celsius scale the freezing and boiling points of water are exactly hundred degree apart, thus the unit of the Fahrenheit scale, a degree Fahrenheit , is 5/9 of a degree Celsius. The Fahrenheit scale coincides with the Celsius scale at -40°F, which is the same temperature as -40°C.
hope it helps.

Answer:
You see that Celsius has 100 degrees between the freezing and boiling point, whereas Fahrenheit has 180 degrees between these two points. One degree Celsius is 1.8 times larger than one degree Fahrenheit.
