both are equal and opposite forces. both of them cancel our to keep a body in circular motion. for example, if a stone is tied with a thread and rotated, the tension in the thread tries to pull the stone to the centre. this force is centripetal. the stone also experiences a force radially. this is centrifugal force. in centrifugation, centrifugal force of different particles is different. so they'll separate. understood?
