chemical energy, stored in bonds of chemical compounds. chemical energy may be released during chemical reactions.
mechanical energy can either be kinetic energy(energy of motions) and potential energy(stored enrgy of positions)

hope it helps....

The difference between chemical energy and mechanical energy are as follows:

  • Chemical energy is the energy which is converted to thermal energy when burning wood in a fireplace or burning gasoline takes place. On the other hand, mechanical energy is energy stored in objects by tension.
  • Some examples of mechanical energy are compressed springs,  rubber bands, etc.
  • Moreover, chemical energy causes chemical reactions to take place.
  • Mechanical energy is the movement of molecules as a single unit.
  • There are two types of mechanical energy such as potential energy and kinetic energy.
  • Thus, the sum of the two mechanical energy is called the total mechanical energy and it is limitless in nature.
