Words "Chartered" before accountantsignifies that the person is authorized by special law, having obtained desired professional qualifications and prescribed technical knowledge to act as one. Generally, a mere "accountant" would stand to mean a "bookkeeper". But a Chartered Accountant is not just a bookkeeper.
