Choropleth method of mapping uses prearranged keys, colours and shades to describe a range of values for areas.
For example: Population Density Information in ‘per km^2’ is correctly depicted using choropleth map. Other
examples where choropleth map can be used are – to understand the differences in
land use, to illustrate the type of forest cover.
Isopleths method uses simple data with a sustained distribution. There are two types of isopleths mapping. They are
