Generalized Diffuse Gingivitis. Generalized Gingivitis – Inflammation involving all or nearly all of the teeth or throughout a single arch. Diffuse Gingivitis – Involves the interdental papilla(e), gingival margin(s), and attached gingiva. Is usually localized; can be generalized (rarely).
