Answer:
Ciliated Epithelium -
- The cells bear cilia on their free surface.
- Present the inner surface of hollow organs like bronchioles and fallopian tube.
- They help to move particles or mucus in a specific direction over the epithelium.
Glandular Epithelium -
- They have main function of secretion.
- The two types of glandular epithelium include unicellular and multicellular.
- The unicellular glandular epithelium consists of isolated gladular cells. Ex : Alimentary canal.
- The multicellular glandular epithelium consists of cluster of cells. Ex : Salivary gland.
- Based on the mode of pouring the secretion, glandular epithelium cells are again of two types.
- The first type is said to be exocrine gland, which release secretions through ducts. They secrete and release mucus, saliva, earwax, oil, etc.
- The second type is called endocrine or ductless glands. They have no ducts. They secrete hormones.
