Difference between cistern and cisternae
Answers
Explanation:
The difference between the cisternae
and the cristae:
1. The cisternae is a flattened membrane
disk which the Golgi apparatus and the
endoplasmic reticulum is made up of. On
the other hand a Cristae is a fold in the
inner membrane of the mitochondrion.
2. A Golgi stack may constitute between
3 to 20 cisternae but majority only
contain around six. The four class of
Golgi include trans, trans-Golgi network,
cis and medial. A cristae gives the
inner membrane of the mitochondrion
membrane its signature wrinkled shape,
whic is meant to provide a large amount
of surface area for the chemical reactions
to take place.
3. Every cisternae class includes different
enzymes which are active within it. On
the other hand the cristae contains
proteins which include ATP synthase and
a range of cytochromes.
