Difference Between Civil and Criminal Cases

➝ It deals with the harm or injury to the rights of the individuals.

Eg - Purchasing of Goods, Sale of Land, Divorce cases etc....

➝ A Petetion has to be filled in the relavent court by the affected party alone.

Eg - In a rent matter either the Landlord or the Tanant can file a case if they are affected.

➝ The Court gives specific relief asked for.

Eg - In a rental matter between the Landlord and the Tanant, the court may order the flat to be vacated and the pending rent to be paid.

➳ It deals with the conducts or acts that the law defines as offences.

Eg - Theft, Murder, Harassing a Woman etc....

➳ It usually begins with the First Information Report (FIR) with the police who investigates the crime after which a case is filed in the court

➳ If found Guilty the accused can be sent to Jail and also be fined
