Classic approach of management did not consider the social needs and job satisfaction of workers. It only considered the physical and economical needs. It focused on profit maximization and had a central controlling body.

The modern approach however focuses on how the systematic mathematical techniques are used in the system; it analyzes and understands the management and the workers.
