Circulatory system is said to be open if the blood runs in open space called sinuses and moreover organs are in direct contact with blood.

Circulatory system is said to be closed if blood runs in a closed vessel having definite boundaries and path ( blood vessels & capillaries ) and moreover organs are not in direct contact with blood.
