CLOTTING FACTOR:
•There are several clotting factors which are responsible for the coagulation of the blood or they assist in blood clotting.

• Recent theory of the phenomenon blood clotting is called as cascade theory which was proposed by Macferlane. According to this (or his) theory there are 13 exact factors which are essentially required for blood coagulation (or clotting). The 6th factor (in Roman) is hypothetical. Actually there is no presence of the 6th factor.

BLOOD PLATELETS:
• Thrombocytes or blood platelets (in mammals) are fewer in number than the Red blood corpuscles (RBCs) and more than the White blood corpuscles (WBCs) in number. Blood normally (accords to volume) contains 1,50,000-3,50,000 mm^3 platelets of blood. Increase or decrease in the number of platelets from tell given number above is known as Thrombocytosis and Thrombocytopenia respectively.

• Blood platelets, when an injury is caused, ruptures the blood vessels and tears the epidermal layer creating a wound, because of this the blood platelets come into play and release certain chemicals which are called platelet factors, such as thromboplastin. The planet factors then, subsequently, help or as sit in the clotting or the coagulation of the blood. Life span of blood platelets is about a week.
