The process of precipitation of a colloidal solution by the addition of suitable electrolyte is called coagulation.
The process in which freshly prepared precipitate of colloid is dissolve directly in suitable dispersion medium to form colloidal solution is called peptization.

Peptization. ... Peptization is the process of forming stable colloids by using an electrolyte to break up a precipitate and disperse it into the colloid. So while coagulation uses charges to disrupt the colloid and form an aggregate, peptization uses charges to form a colloid from a precipitate.
