PARENCHYMA

  • Parenchyma is an non-specialized simple permanent tissue.
  • Their shape may be oval, round, polygonal or elongated in shape.
  • They have thin cell wall made of cellulose.
  • They have large inter-cellular spaces between them.
  • They have nucleus in their cell and hence living.
  • They are present in plant's roots, stems, leaves, flowers or fruits.

COLLENCHYMA

  • Collenchyma is an specialized simple permanent tissue.
  • Their shape may be transversed or longitudnal.
  • They have thick wall with deposits of hemicellulose, and pectin.
  • They have less inter-cellular spaces between them.
  • They have nucleus in their cell and are living.
  • It is found below epidermis of leaf stalk and leaf mid-ribs.
