____________________________________________________

COLLENCHYMA ⤵

1) cells of collenchyma are living

2) cells have soft primary walls

3) cell walls show localized thickenings in the corners

4) cells are filled with the Protoplasm

5) the tissue provide mechanical strength and Elastcity in young dicotylodonous stem.

6) the collenchyma is present at the margins of some leaves and resists tearing effect of the Wind.

SCLERENCHYMA⤵

1) cells of sclerenchyma are dead.

2) cells have hard secondary walls.

3) cell walls show uniform thickening of secondary wall due to deposition of Lignin.

4) cells are empty and have narrow lumen.

5) the tissue provides mechanical sport in plants.

6) the main function of sclerenchyma is to give mechanical support to the plant parts . it provides a protective covering around seeds and nuts . sclerenchyma fibres of some plants are commonly exploited
