Explanation:

Dispersion system with a liquid and solid component, with particles size between 1 and 100 nm is called colloid. Dispersion system with a liquid and solid component, with particles size above 100 nm is called suspension. ... The colloid particles can pass through filter paper, while the particles of the suspensions cannot.

Answer:

Unlike colloids, a suspension is a heterogeneous mixture where solute particles usually do not dissolve and they suspended throughout the dispersion medium (solvent). Due to bigger in size, dispersed particles get to settle down over time and can be separate out. Whereas, the colloidal dispersion is stable or not, usually control by the balance between repulsive and attractive forces. So, colloidal suspension is stable and disperse completely if the repulsive force (due to electrostatic charge or steric effect) sufficiently balance the attractive van der Waals interactions. Actually, both colloid and suspension system is the heterogeneous system but due to above properties of colloids, it remains in one phase. However, there may be an existence of two-phase (known as cloud point) in case of surfactant colloidal system if the system gets heated or cool.
