A combination reaction occurs when two reactants react together to form a new substance, also known as the product. A Decomposition reaction is when a product breaks down into its individual reactants. But in a decomposition reaction, the product AB will decompose into reactants A and reactant B( A B= A+B).

i)In combination reaction there are 2 or more reactant is needed to give single product whereas in decomposition reaction the compound is broken down into simpler substances.

ii) H2 + Cl2 ➡HCl(combination)
Pb(NO3)2 ➡ PbO + NO2 + O2(decomposition)
