The crops that are cultivated to meet basic food requirements are called food crops.
Example- cereals and pulses.

Commercial crops means the crops that are grown for sale to get a profit. These crops are fed to the producer's own or grown as the food for the producer's family.
Example- cotton, coffee beans, tea etc.
