Difference between Communicable and non- communicable disease?

(I) Communicable or Infectious Diseases :
Diseases where infectious agents are the immediate cause are called communicable Diseases.These diseases are caused by the attack of microorganisms such as viruses, bacteria,fungi,etc.
Example: Malaria, cholera
(ii) Non - Communicable diseases:
Diseases which remain confined to the bearer and do not spread from infected person to the healthy person are called Non communicable diseases .These diseases are not caused by infectious agents.Their causes are mostly internal and non - infectious.
Examples: Diabetes, heart disease , cancer etc.
Communicable diseases :
(1) These spread from an infected person to a healthy person.
(2) They are caused by pathogens (e.g Bacteria, viruses , protozoans,etc.)
(3) Examples:- Malaria, smallpox , cholera , tuberculosis,etc.
Non-Communicable disease :
(1) These do not spread or transmit from infected person to the healthy person.
(2) They are caused due to either deficiency of nutrients, malfunctioning of some organs of the body , allergy, abnormal growth of tissues,etc.
(3) Examples :- Cancer, heart diseases, epilepsy,marasmus , etc .
