Computer Science is about how Computers are created, and how to improve/manage the hardware capabilities of Computers.
Software Engineering deals with building and maintaining software systems that can be installed in computers.
Software Engineering has better career scope in India, as user specific softwares (building/maintainance) have high demand in our digitising economy.
Whereas In CS, hardware assembly and maintenance can be user specific but most people prefer generic computers from established brands. Maintenance is the usual job scope in CS.
If you are more interested in building electronic gadgets or to work in a computer(hardware) manufacturing company, then choose computer science.
FYI: You can be successful in any stream if you have endless passion to improve your skills in that field. It's important to study in a good institute.
