Concave lens :
- Lenses that are thicker around their edges and thinner at the centre are called concave lenses.
- They are known as diverging lenses.
- They have negative focal length.
- It diverges the incident rays away from the principal axis.
- Image formed is always virtual and diminished.
- Used to cure myopia(near sightedness)
Convex lens :
- Lenses that are thinner around their edges and thicker at the centre are called concave lenses.
- They are known as converging lens.
- They have positive focal length.
- It converges incident ray towards principal axis.
- Different types of image formed depending upon position of object.
- Used to cure hypermetropia (far sightedness)
