When your property is taken by law due to wrong doings ( at first before the case begins ) then it is called seizure. Here the police or law personnel seize your property.
Forfeiture refers to the taking of things during the case at court, that is
E.g. Illegal assets case is put on you and the case is going. If they take things during this time it is called foreiture.
If things are taken without the need of case but under some rights then it is called confiscation. If having parrot is illegal then the parrot might get confiscated as it is a rule to be followed.
