Conjugation
- conjugation is the process of tranfer of DNA from the donor bacterium to the recipient bacterium
- It involves two bacteria , one is donor and other is the recipient
- This process involves physical contact between two the bacterium . Two bacteria are joined together by a conjugation
- The conjugation process is resident to DNase as the DNA is present inside the bacteria
Transformation
- Transformation is the uptake of DNA from their surroundings
- It involves only one bacterium
- There is no physical contact between the two bacteria
- The transfer of DNA by transformation is sensitive to the Dnase
Transduction
- Tranduction is the process of transfer of DNA from the donor bacterium to the recipient bacterium by using a virus as a vector
- It involves two bacteria one is donor and other is the recipient
- The process involves two bacteria but there is no physical contact between them
- Tranduction is also DNase resistant . There is no naked DNA present
