CONSERVATIVE FORCES Work done by conservative force in a round trip is zero. Work done depends on it's initial position and final position and not on it's path. EX:- Gravitational force, electrostatic force and elastic force of a spring are all conservative forces.

NON-CONSERVATIVE FORCES Work done my non conservative force in a round trip is not zero. Work done is path dependent. EX:- Forces of Friction and viscosity

A conservative force is a force with the property that the total work done in moving a particle between two points is independent of the taken path.
Example - Gravitational force, elastic force etc

A non-conservative force is a force with the property that the total work done in moving a particle between two points is dependent of the taken path.
Example - Frictional force, Air resistance
