Graafian Follicle

It consists of an oocyte, zona pellucida, cellular membranous granulose surrounded by the theca internal and the external.

it contains follicular antrum (follicular cavity) filled with follicular fluid.

it is formed by the germinal epithelium of the ovary.

Its granular cells secrete oestrogens.

Corpus luteum

It consists of luteum cells, fibrin and blood clot.

It contains blood clot.

It is formed after the release of secondary oocyte from the Graafian follicle.

It secretes progesterone
