difference between crop rotation and intercropping

crop rotation- if the same type of crop is grown on a same piece of land,the soil becomes devoid of essential nutrients.to prevent this,two crops one leguminous crop like pea and another non-leguminous crop like maize are grown alternatively on the same piece of land .this is known as crop rotation
