Answer:

Density is the number of individuals per unit of space (area, volume). This called crude density. ... Crude density includes all the land within the organism's range whereas ecological density includes only that portion of land that can actually be colonized by the species.

Difference between crude and specific density are :

Crude :

  • The petroleum as it occurs naturally, as it comes from an oil well, or after the extraneous substances (as entrained water, gas, and minerals) have been removed.
  • Actually ,the specific gravity and compressibility are well connected with each other.
  • Crude oil and its refined products are normally measured in terms of volume in the gallons or by the weight in tons.
  • The specific gravity of the oil can be measured by the relationship between volume and weight.

Specific density are :

  • Specific density or a Relative  Specific gravity is the ratio of the density (mass of a unit volume) of a substance to the density of a given reference material, often a liquid.
  • Specific gravity = Density of a substance (g / m L)or Density of the water at the same temperature (g / m L).
  • The formula of the density is ρ = m / V, where m is mass and V is the volume of liquid.
  •  It is the density of a liquid compared to the density of another material for reference.
  • Usually ,the water is taken as the reference material for this calculation.
  • It has no unit and is a dimensionless quantity.
